First, we’ll meet with you at length to get an idea of why you’re renovating your kitchen in the first place. Knowing what you don’t like and what doesn’t work for you is critical because those are the issues we want to avoid for the remodel.
Of course, we also want to hear what you love about your kitchen. What are the things that you wish your kitchen had when you’re making the average everyday dinner? What items do you wish you had when you’re preparing larger meals for holidays and family gatherings? What goes on in your kitchen space morning, noon, afternoon and after dinner?
The answers to these questions are vital because how you use your kitchen cabinet on a daily basis is instrumental to creating the optimal layout, flow and seating options.

Are additions always necessary?
No. You would be amazed what a little creative vision and new layout can do for your kitchen design. Even older homes can be reorganized in a way that yields more usable square footage in the existing space. We can move or remove walls, get rid of bulkheads, relocate appliances, etc. Of course, if your budget and plan allow, a kitchen addition can be a wonderful way to increase your food preparation and social space.
How much do custom kitchens cost?
Usually, our clients are looking at a $65,000 minimum investment. We can work with you to create the most cost-effective renovation possible so our work aligns with your goals and budget. We never take a deposit until we have completed the design phase and are ready to set the schedule.
Will our house be a disaster zone?
Construction is a loud and messy business, but our crew is meticulous about cleaning up after ourselves and you will always be informed of our schedule well ahead of time so you can make arrangements accordingly. We take care of all of our own garbage and debris. That being said, you should be prepared with to-go menus from your favorite restaurants, and you may want to set up a temporary kitchen in a laundry room or guest bedroom, complete with a microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven for the occasional days when your appliances/electrical functions/plumbing/etc., are “in progress.”
